Web Application Penetration Testing

A web application penetration test, also known as a web app penetration test or web app security assessment, is a type of security testing that involves testing the security of a web application and its associated servers and infrastructure. The goal of a web application penetration test is to identify vulnerabilities and security weaknesses in the web application that could be exploited by an attacker.

During a web application penetration test, the tester may use various tools and techniques to probe the web application and its associated servers and infrastructure, and attempt to identify vulnerabilities. This may include techniques such as testing for vulnerabilities in the web application code, attempting to access restricted areas of the application, and attempting to inject malicious code into the application.

Web application penetration testing is an important part of ensuring the security of web applications, as web applications are often targeted by attackers due to their high visibility and potential to access sensitive data. It is important for organizations to regularly conduct web application penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities in their web applications.
